The stepson was arrested Jan. 2 and charged with suspicion of aggravated sexual assault. Police say the father caught him assaulting his daughter, and a subsequent examination at a hospital revealed the girl had been sodomized.
Sgt. Cheryl Johnson, supervisor of the Fort Worth sex crimes unit, said in a story posted Saturday on the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Web site that people need to "allow the criminal justice system to work for them."
"This is a very unique case, but we have a criminal justice system in place, and no one can take the law into their own hands," Johnson said.
The Star-Telegram didn't identify the father or the stepson to protect the identity of the girl. Fort Worth police didn't immediately return phone and e-mail messages from The Associated Press.
When the stepson was arrested, the man warned his wife not to get the teenager out of jail. She posted bond for the teen's release. When he called home Jan. 3 after getting released, the father took the call and picked him up, police said.
Instead of taking the teenager home, the Arlington man drove to an abandoned house in Fort Worth, beat his stepson with a baseball bat and sodomized him with a metal tool, police said.
After the man left, the stepson found a pay phone and called police, who searched the abandoned home.

"The film is an intense love story. Just like my film 'Tanu Weds Manu', the film and its characters will take you to Delhi, Punjab, Chennai," said Rai.

The actor is also perhaps planning to hire a coach to learn Hindi. He is convinced that by the time the film's shoot gets over, he will be able to communicate fluently in Hindi, which will open more avenues for him.

An executive close to Bharti Airtel said a 20-30% rise in the next 12 months was the "minimum requirement for the industry to keep its head above water".

Even state-run BSNL, which did not raise rates last time, plans to increase tariffs, a top executive said.

An executive close to Reliance Communications said the industry needed higher charges to service itsRs 275,000-crore debt. "Except the top three, all operators are losing Rs 800-1,000 crore per quarter," the executive said. Uninor Managing Director Sigve Brekke told ET recently if 'incumbents increase tariffs, he would be the first to follow', adding that customers could afford higher tariffs.

India added 400 million users in the last two years, but revenues crawled 10%, and average minutes of usage per customer fell from 465 in 2007 to 350.

"Inflation has been around 9% in the last two years. The industry paid Rs 70,000 crore for 3G spectrum. These services failed to take off and costs will eventually have to be passed on," said the executive of a leading GSM operator. He said earnings from every minute of traffic had plummeted to 40-45 paise from Rs 1 in 2007.

Samaresh Parida, director, Vodafone, said government levies had raised costs. "If the government keeps on trying to extract more from us, we are left with no alternative."

Speaking with the TelecomTalk, Mr. Amit Mathur, Director – Sales, RIM India, said that ‘We are in process to launch “Only BBM Plan” with all BlackBerry service providers in the country. Keeping in mind to offer the rich communications features and unique user experience of BBM in an affordable service plan to BlackBerry customers in India.”

It seems that RIM /BlackBerry India has been touting BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) as the main competitive advantage to lock more users to choose and enjoy BlackBerry smartphones in India.

Recently Go BBM Plan or Only BBM Plan was launched by Vodafone and Airtel which offers unlimited access to BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) at Rs. 5 per day or Rs. 129 per month for prepaid and Rs. 129 per month for postpaid subscribers.

BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is an instant messaging app just for BlackBerry smartphone owners. BBM lets you communicate in real time with the people anywhere in the world who matter most with features like confirmation when message have been delivered and read, and the ability to send pictures, videos, voice notes, files and more unlimited for free.

Currently 10 mobile service providers – Aircel, Airtel, BSNL, Idea Cellular, Loop Mobile, MTNL, MTS, Reliance, Tata Docomo and Vodafone are providing BlackBerry Services.

HP had learned of about 22 incidents involving the batteries by September 2007, but it failed to report the problem until 10 months later, according to the Commission.

"In at least two of those incidents, the products caused injury to consumers. In at least one of those incidents, the consumer apparently went to the hospital," the Commission said in a settlement agreement with HP.

The lithium-ion battery packs were shipped in new HP laptops or sold as accessories and spare parts. Because of the defect, they could overheat, posing fire and burn hazards, the Commission said.

Soon after it reported the problem, HP and the Commission recalled about 32,000 lithium-ion battery packs.

Around the same time, Dell and Toshiba also recalled lithium-ion battery packs, which had been manufactured by Sony.

In agreeing to the settlement, HP denied the batteries posed an unreasonable risk or that it had violated federal reporting requirements. With respect to the recall, it acted "in accordance with the CPSA and in its customers' best interests," HP said in the agreement.

The Commission said it still wants to hear about incidents involving the battery packs. American Consumers can report them at the SaferProducts.gov website.
