Nokia N86
Hello,
I would like to transfer a .cer and .key file to my Nokia N86 but was having difficulty doing so. Would be great if someone could help by providing instructions for this. I have the .key file and .cer on my computer which I got after registering from a site. The problem lies in getting these files to my mobile which I'm sure is simple but I am getting stuck somewhere. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Use nokia pc suite. Enter the option as PC suite or mass storage in the mobile phone after plugging in the phone through usb.

RE: Nokia N86
Thanks for the link Pri_dm..I did know of that site..Also thank u MeetDilip. Here's the problem that I am experiencing so far:
When I log into my OPDA account (this is the account where I got my .cer and .key files) the 'My certificate' tab reads:

"Model Remar IMEI(IMEI) Apply/Upload(Time)Expire Time
NOKIA N86KM3582700324167422010-02-03 19:202013-02-02 20:53:42
Operate Operate
Normal Signing | .cer | .key | delete"

I then clicked on the .cer tab to open the file and then I am prompted to 'Install Certificate' which I do and then am taken through a 'Welcome to the Certificate Install Wizard'. I then get a message to say ' Automatically open the certificate based on type of certificate' or 'Place all certificates in the following store' where I go with the former and I then get a message to say 'Import was successful'. I am now looking at transferring this file to my mobile so I open Nokia PC Suite and click on File Manager but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I can't seem to transfer the file?!?
The other problem is when clicking the .key tab where I get this message "Windows cannot open this file and needs to know who created it which can be done either manually or windows can go online to find out" On clicking either it doesn't take me anywhere.
If someone can help me on how I could go about with this that would be great JC_doubleup. I know I'm close to getting there because once I'm able to get these 2 files to my phone it should be fine after that.
A little frustrating! but thank you for all your help so far..

RE: Nokia N86
sorry i couldnt read your full post as i am loging from cell phone,
Just in confirm,
.cer and .key are used to sign the application not to crack the phone or something, you can download signsis application and sign the software from it. Then install the application on your phone and it will work.

RE: Nokia N86
ok now I went through your post, ok can you explain why you want these files to be in phone ?? coz these are developer key files which will authorize any 3rd party application installation.
If you can let us know the reason we can help you better.

RE: Nokia N86
There is a thread in this site naming "irritated by camera sounds" please search it,
There is a file uploaded there just install that and camera sound will be disabled.
If you are not able install that file, sign the application with the .key .cer files you have got.

Thanks for the reply Rising Sun. I transferred the file to my phone but it needs to be signed. The transferring of the .cer and .key files is where my difficulty lies though! If you could kindly provide me some help on how to go about with this that would be great as I was getting stuck even with the help of Nokia PC Suite. If you read my earlier post I describe exactly what problem I'm facing which could help you figure out what I'm doing wrong and therefore you could provide me the right steps. Once I get these 2 files on my phone it should be ok. This is the site that I got the free signer from http://cer.opda.cn/en/index.php?module=index&action=
Thanks so much..
