Milton idealised satan
Milton idealised Satan:

Milton wanted to show the old heroic figure in Satan. For that, he developed Satan’s character in Paradise Lost Book I and II. Then, in the remaining books, he wanted to show the victory of new heroism over the old counterpart. Despite of all his efforts to do it, the readers – even Milton – were unable to come out of the splendid courage of Stan. Though Milton developed Adam well in the later part, it was pale in comparison be Milton’s strength and poetic qualities were fresh when he was craving Satan in Book I and II.
