why would you want KDE on windows??? KDE is a desktop environment, with a whole suite of applications, not a window decoration....

well for GNOME, i think one can install ubuntu inside windows as an application. like any other software.
after

most comfortable things with most of Linux distros is, u can always feel the whole OS from live CD/USBs. y don't u try to make one & then test it.

Logik
PS: i am testing Puppy linux & ubuntu from last two days on my laptop. i got live USB drive with persistent mode.

i will recommend tryong live USB. its much faster that way.

after u boot using live stick/cd the whole OS gets loaded into the RAM. with CD the process is lil bit noisy & slow.

u want some tut??

here i go

1)http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-u...-as-1-2-3/

2) http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multib...b-creator/

Plus : look at the main page of same site: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/

u will find bunch of very useful tuts
