Add Farmville friends and protect your personal info on Facebook

However, having plenty of Farmville neighbours has many other advantages as well. The more neighbours you have the more gifts you can receive, the more you will benefit by getting a bonus when they receive awards, and the more opportunities you will have to help your neighbours toward the Good Samaritan ribbons. Plus, having friends in the game is just fun!

Unfortunately, adding people you don't know in Facebook also exposes your personal information, your profile, and your status updates. It wouldn't be very difficult for someone to pretend to play the game, get added as your friend, and steal all of your information and invade your privacy.

You should strongly consider following my 10 easy steps for protecting your Facebook profile before you add a single person you don't know:

1. Open Facebook to your main page. On the left-hand side you should see lists (News Feed, etc.). Click the link on the bottom for "More".
2. The list should expand downward. Select "Create New List" at the bottom".
3. You should see a new window. Title your new list, "Farmville friends", "Farmville neighbours" or whatever you want to call it. Select "Create List".
4. After you have created your new list, select "Settings" on the top right of the page and select the drop down for "Privacy Settings".
5. Now you should see the Privacy page. Select "Profile".
6. Select the drop down box for each option and select "Customize...". The first option, "Profile", does not have this option so skip it.
7. Once you have selected "Customize..." you should see a new window. At the bottom it should read, "Except These People". In the box in this window type the name of the list you created in Step 3 and select the list.
8. Repeat this process for every option on the page EXCEPT "Wall Posts". Do not select Wall Posts or your Farmville neighbours will not be able to see your updates when you share your awards, ribbons, lost animals, etc.
9. Once you have customized every option except "Wall Posts", click the tab on the top of the paged titled "Contact Information".
10. Repeat steps 6-8 for every option on the Contact Information page.



Congratulations, you are finished! Very Important: Whenever you add a new friend for Farmville before you confirm them, select the "Add To List..." dropdown and select the name of your list (chosen in Step 3). You must put them on this list for this to work!



If you want to test and make sure it works, you can type the name of one of your Farmville friends in the "See how a friend sees your profile" box under the Settings>>Privacy>>Profile tab (where you customized your lists).

**There is another method which works even better for protecting your privacy. After you have added a friend on Farmville and added them as a neighbour in the game, you can delete them as a friend from Facebook and they will still be your friend in the game. I have tested this and it works. This isn't 100% full proof, however, because they can still see your information until you delete them as a friend (which is all it takes to get your information). You also lose the benefit of seeing their updates when they find animals, win ribbons and awards, etc. so you won't get the accompanying bonuses. If you choose this method, I would follow the 10 steps above first so they will never see your personal information.

I have created one list in the name of 'Farmville friend' and restricted that list activity although still that list is empty but when I will add any new "friend" (better if I don't use this word in that case ) for game purpose I will tell them that I have added them only in 'farmville playing group list' not as general friend list.I think that's my duty don't know what else need to do for this farmville.

Lol... I've around 700 friends in my facebook account thanks to Mafia Wars... However, I have never interacted with 99% of them... They were a huge help to quickly add plenty of neighbours in Farmville....
