Significance of Storm Scene in King Lear

The external storm in King Lear indicates the inner storm which is raging fiercely in the breast of the abandoned Lear. The storm is in league and in sympathy with his two filial-ingratitude daughters to torture him. It gives a chance to Lear to think of the oppressed and the paupers. In these scenes, the trio of madness – Lear, Edgar, Fool – is presented. Moreover, these scenes quicken the action of the play and rush it towards its eventual climax.

Characteristics of a tragedy in King Lear

The tragic hero, King Lear, is noble in nature but with a few weaknesses. Due to them, tragic flaw occurs in the play – distribution of Kingdom among his daughters in proportionate to his daughter’s public deliverance of their love upon him . The inner conflict of the tragic hero is powerfully presented in this play. Poetic justice is partial because much human good is destroyed in the expulsion of the evil.

I was pretty depressed when I first read King Lear, it's too heavy for a 7 year old.

yeas, the book does have a lot of pages, so is quite heavy weight.
did you put the book on your head?
so how much depressed were you? 6 inch or 12 inches inside the ground? or even more?
